History in the Making

An Historian About… Facebook!

I realise that I am 8000 years behind the times, but I am slowly still working on my social media for the blog! I realise that everyone has Twitter and Facebook and Snapchat and Instagram and Vine and NoodleScooz for their blog (Gilmore Girls shout out), but instead of flooding everyone, I have been adding one at a time slowly.

Ta daaaaaaaa, An Historian on Facebook! I’m looking forward to using Facebook for the blog- it seems fairly simple to switch to the blog page, so I should be able to interact there pretty regularly. I know that some people don’t like checking into WordPress or BlogLovin or whichever reader you use every day, but this might be an easier alternative for some! Feel free to like the page, and tell your friends! (Or if you are like, I’M TIRED OF BLOGGERS PIMPING OUT THEIR SOCIAL MEDIAplease feel free to disregard this post 🙂 )  I would love to interact and “meet” more people- the community is why I’m in this blogging thing.

If you have any ideas of new series or posts or topics that you want to see on the blog, please let me know! I’m always open to new ideas, and you, my dear readers, are a lovely and creative bunch that I am thrilled to hear from 🙂

Until tomorrow,
The Historian!

  • ‘Liked’! I do a bit on fb, and most of it is different than on my blog–shorter blips with more photos, and occasionally link to my blog for posts I think will appeal to fb readers. My audience is different on each, though I don’t know how why really. I was very hesitant to link to fb. Barely ever did anything with my personal page, still rarely do, but am delighted i opened a blog page on fb. Have met some wonderful people and had great private conversations. Anyhoo, best of luck and I will see you there. Melissa 🙂

    • Thank you!! I do find it odd linking to my own facebook- I will for travel posts, because I get a lot of “what did you do???” questions, but unless I know that 30+ people will want to read it, it doesn’t go to my own facebook page.

I think I’m going to have to think in the next week or so, and figure out what kind of “new” content I want going up on the Facebook page, so that I’m not duplicating the Twitter. Social media is tricky :/
