Clinique Pretty Treats Set Review, Style File Fridayย

Clinique is my go-to skincare and make up company- I have sensitive skin that will break out on the spot if it doesn’t like what I put on it. I was first introduced by a friend who let me try her Moisture Surge, and I was hooked! I also love their make up, as it is fairly understated and suits my natural make up well. The universe knows timing- right before my Moisture Surge ran out, the Bay called my mom to let her know that there would be a gift with purchase. I love their small sets, because it is a great way to find new products/colours, and to get travel and purse sized products. This Pretty Treats set is no exception, and it is one of their better collections!

Living Sustainably, Part I: Food

I’ve struggled with sustainability for a while in my own head. Obviously we all understand the importance for the planet and future generations but I think that a lot of us waiver when it comes to actually putting it into practice! For most of us, it takes a shift in the way that we think and a realisation that things may take a little longer or cost a little more. This is a three part series on small ways to foster and encourage sustainability in your own life, and today I will be sharing a few tips of being sustainable with food!

New Balance and Lululemon, Style File Friday

My hope for Style File Friday is that it is a place for me to share my favourite style and beauty recommendations while also sharing the stories and backgrounds that go along with them. I love knowing how someone came to find and love a piece, and that makes a big difference when I’m looking for recommendations myself. (Let me know if you like this approach.) Onto the goods!……

My charge to back to being in shape is going pretty well, all in all! I know that a lot of people don’t want to invest in gym clothing and equipment (shoes) until they’ve reached a certain goal, but I find that I am far more motivated to hit the pavement and keep moving if I’ve got something new to wear. I have a few new pieces right now that are motivating me to get to the gym and to my yoga mat and put the time in that I should!

Kate Spade Finds, Style File Friday

So I finally swung by Winners in the south end of Winnipeg. For any non-Canadians reading this, Winners is essentially the same things as Marshalls and TJ/ TK Maxx- some designer brands, some regular brands, some never heard of brands at decent prices. I have found some fantastic pieces there in the past, and I decided it was finally time to visit once again. I find that the best approach when going to a store like Winners or Marshalls is to give yourself more than enough time to wander about and really give everything a good look.

Make It Monday- Cinnamon Buns

You don’t know this, but my family tends to get a little obsessed with cinnamon buns. There used to be a bakery in Gimli that had these huge, delicious cinnamon buns that we would get every single weekend at the lake, and bring some home to freeze. Fast forward to roughly 2010, and the bakery closed. *cue weeping and uncontrollable shaking from cinnamon bun withdrawal* We have since found another bakery on the way to the lake that makes the same old fantastic cinnamon buns, but in the meantime, I’ve discovered that I kind of like making them myself. And I do!
