On our last day in Seattle on our trip, I had said that I was on the hunt for something at Kate Spade and Nordstrom. What was that? A brand new Kate Spade, 12 month planner for 2016! I find that work alone fills my original planner, so I leave it at work and use it solely for planning my time at work (meetings, projects, deadlines, etc). So, what to do for everything else??
I first spotted the “Diary of a Young Lady of Fashion” planner on History in High Heels’ Instagram! (You can check it out here 🙂 ) It is thin, light, and elegant, still green for me, and just plain fun!! The Kate Spade store didn’t have it- apparently “speciality” stores rarely get them. It took probably 20 minutes of wandering through all five floors of Nordstrom and asking 3 different associates, but we finally found it!! Pricey at $40 USD, but worth it for me, I think. What are the specs?
-Covers December 28, 2015 to January 1, 2017
-2 page spread with month views of 2016 and 2017
-A listing of American holidays
-15 blank lined pages for Notes
-Tabs for 2016/2017, Celebrations, Notes, and January through December 2016

I’m loving it so far! Kate Spade really sees me coming…
What else is the new year if not a time to stock up on highly discounted calendars!! I actually bought one on Amazon– I needed a new year of Westie Puppies at work! I like having the mini calendars work, they fit nicely. These are now pinned up beside me, giving me that extra pep when I need it 🙂
I also visited the calendar store at the mall, one of the pop-up shops that only exists November to February. All of the calendars were 60% percent off, so I got all three I was considering! I bought the Siberian Husky puppies for my brother, maybe Loki will see some of himself in them!! I then bought myself the full-sized Westie puppies calendar, and a regular Westie calendar. The Westie puppies are now my blogging calendar! It is a lot easier for me to plan out my blog long term when I can see the full month- I can see trends, if I have too many of the same theme grouped too closely together, too many regular features, not even regular features. I am old school, and I like it being written down! My recommendations for using a calendar for planning your blog?
-Different colours for different features/themes
-Keep the cardboard square that comes with it if you are going to writing on it
-Pick something that you love for the theme of the calendar, you will be looking at it a lot!

My regular Westie calendar will just be for life! I wanted to look at more of them, okay? 🙂 I bought all three full sized calendars for $24 CAD, so I made off like a bandit! You have to love “after season” sales. If your mall has a calendar store still there, I would recommend swinging by- at this point, you are probably looking at 80% off! And no one has ever said “this calendar is ruining my life”.
How do you stay organised, blogging or otherwise?? Do you prefer paper, or an app, or a combination??
Until tomorrow,
The Historian!

I am now using a Google calendar for planning blog posts. We have a wall calendar for all our personal stuff and important dates in the kitchen. I have a paper diary for work/personal and I only use pencil because it’s constantly changing. I like your westie calendar.
Kate Spade always sees me coming, too… Cute planner!
