If you have ever had a puppy, you will quickly learn that healthy and nutritious dog treats are far more expensive than the most premium dog food, as you can easily go through 100+ in one puppy class! I was doing research on alternatives to commercial training treats when one of my coworkers made training treats herself and brought them in for all of our dogs- these are an easy and nutritious way to train your dog at home and possibly use up some leftovers around your house.
In Winnipeg, it’s pretty much the most exciting time in our history… Continue reading
This was a big week in Agnes-land…
Hoo-mom here: I decided to share some of my experiences travelling to get my puppy; a lot of “travelling with dogs” posts are related to car trips, or flying with an adult dog, but not so many about flying to pick up your 8 week old puppy that you don’t know. These are my tips and recommendations on what to do and what to bring when you have to fly to pick up your puppy, to hopefully make your experience as smooth and painless as possible!
Hi everyone, it’s Agnes here! There’s some news on the westie front….

For anyone who follows my Instagram account, you will know that I am getting my very own Westie in the spring. I’ve been slowly getting things ready so that she will have a doggo friendly home when she gets here.
The Winnipeg Westie Walk has quickly become one of my favourite events in the year! Although I don’t have my own Westie just yet and Daisy lives all the way in Seattle, I obviously still love being able to meet and hang out with Westies. There’s nothing like seeing a field full of Westies and realising that you might not have time to pet them because there are so many of them. So, here are some of my favourite shots from the 2017 Winnipeg Westie Walk!
Langley is a small seaside town on Whidbey Island that is picturesque and quaint, made for strolling. Of course I demanded to take Daisy for walkies on this trip- she is the absolute best dog for walking. Not only do you get to follow her carrot tail on her inwestigations, she loves being on leash and doesn’t pull or wander off in the least. We only walked for about half an hour but the rain held off and it was a wonderful way to start the day!
My throat is still might unhappy, but at least I was able to get out to the park! It’s incredibly warm and sunny out here in Winnipeg- 3 degrees Celsius!! And what did I find at the park??
Yes, that is a WESTIE. If that isn’t a good sign, I don’t know what is!
