At the end of the month, I will be picking up my very own little westie to bring home- while I promise that I will not overload you with dog posts, I’m hoping to be able to share the things that I find useful along the way of dog ownership! This post is all about choosing the right breed for you, and what kinds of things to consider when you are looking into getting a dog.
For anyone who follows my Instagram account, you will know that I am getting my very own Westie in the spring. I’ve been slowly getting things ready so that she will have a doggo friendly home when she gets here.
If you have a dog or a cat or a rabbit or even a pet rock, you probably like including them in the different areas of your life, and the holidays are no exception! I will admit to spending more than I probably should on Loki and Thor, but I can’t say no to those husky faces. So, of course we had to take them for Santa pictures! I won’t lie, I don’t really have any tips for coraling your pets because the wonderful people at Pet Valu keep them entertained, treated, and happy, but the hilarity and chaos of these three characters is the perfect mid-week pick-me-up!
For anyone who doesn’t know, Daisy is my soulmate. Daisy is M’s Westie, and she just gets me. We are both tiny, we are both sassy, and we both sometimes get sassy when we get lost in the shuffle because we are tiny. I always insist on taking her out whenever I visit, because she looks so happy and I love to see that teeny terrier smile! I am quite lucky that M lives in Washington, as the weather doesn’t get too cold for Daisy. So, armed with a Daisy, a tiny green coat, and smiles, where did we go? Continue reading
Although I would love it more than anything, I promise that not every Wednesday will have Westies! However, this past weekend I was lucky enough to fulfil one of my lifelong dreams to attend a Westie gathering. Continue reading
Every time I head out west, a good amount of my love is spent on Daisy! A teeny Westie with a heart of gold, an attitude 5x her size, and a beardie that won’t quit- she’s adorable. This post is entirely dedicated to my time with Daisy on this past trip!
I flew out to see M nice and early on 9 August- why did I pick such an early flight? Because we had tickets to Bark at the Park with the Seattle Mariners that evening! M told me about it four or five months ago, and ever since I have been obsessed with bringing Daisy to see the Mariners. She is tiny and well-behaved and loves exploring, so it seemed like the perfect night out for her. She had never really been in the city- it was time for her to be a Westie About Town! I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Banff; it was peaceful, relaxing, and a chance to get out into nature again! Banff is bigger than some of the other mountain towns but you are never terribly far from nature when you want it. Because Loki and I mostly relaxed in the hotel room while my dad and brother were skiing, we knew we wanted to take him on a longer hike in the afternoon. It wasn’t raining at all, and was a perfect 14°C!
Although it rained for most of our Banff trip, it was beautiful on the first morning while the boys were away skiing. I mean, sun shining, birds singing, grass green as can be beautiful. Loki was getting a little restless, and we needed to be away from the room for at least half an hour for the cleaning women. Enter: walkies! Continue reading
