Trial: Brownie Trifle

This past week, I needed a quick dessert last minute- only two days notice, and I had to be able to make the parts quickly after volunteering on Monday evening. It took a bit of thinking, but I was able to come up with something- brownie raspberry trifle!

I decided that something involving brownies would be the best thing possible, as I had two packages of brownie mix. (I am not a baking snob, I keep things like that on hand specifically for cases like this!) I decided that it would be a layer of brownies, a layer of chocolate pudding, a layer of whipped cream, a layer of cut up strawberries (and repeat).

-2 packages of brownie mix
-1 box of chocolate pudding mix (and milk)
-whipped cream
-finely cut/chopped strawberries (approximately 2 cups when cut)

I made the brownies on Monday night, as well as making the chocolate pudding, and cutting up the strawberries. I kept everything separate until I arrived at Tiff’s place- a layer of inch square brownie pieces + a thin layer of chocolate pudding + a generous layer of whipped cream + chopped strawberries. The pudding and the whipped cream mixed together, and essentially turned into chocolate whipped cream.

It was delicious. This recipe was fairly easy, and didn’t take a great deal of time. If you wanted to go whole hog, you could make the brownies from scratch! Both Tiff and Arielle said that it was wonderful, and I will certainly be making this again. I cannot wait to try this with raspberries! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to grab a picture, but this is kind of what it looked like, with strawberries instead of raspberries:
