GILMORE GIRLS- IT'S NOT A DRILL

IT IS NOT A DRILL, I REPEAT IT IS NOT A DRILL. Gilmore Girls will be back in our hearts and homes on Friday, 25 November, 2016, and the world will be a better place for it. It is the one show that I watched on tv from start to finish, from the pilot to the last episode of season seven, and have rewatched the entire series over 20 times now. Some might call it an obsession, I call it a safe and comfortable place for me to always come home to. Although there are only going to be four new episodes, they will all be 90 minutes long. Here is your very own Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life guide to prepare for the big day!
Gilmore Girls Portraits
Pre-Viewing
If you are super committed to the cause, you could rewatch the entire series- if you watch without any breaks, you can get it done in less than four days! However, if you are one of those people who needs to do people things, like sleep and eat and shower, I would recommend doing your favourite episode from each season. My sister and I did a Gilmore Girls marathon one New Year’s Eve (a kickass NYE, if you were wondering), and picked 5 episodes from a hat to watch, a fantastic alternative to narrowing it down to your favourites. If nothing else, I would go with reading through the Gilmore Girls wiki to make sure you remember where’s where and who’s who!
Gilmore Girls Bed
Setting
This needs to be watched in the most comfortable place possible, with as many cozy blankets and comfy pillows that you can get your hands on. This is no time to watch a show on the bus, this is the time to bask in all of the comforts available to you and follow in Lorelai and Rory’s steps to ignore all physical exercise for the duration. Don’t be a hero, ladies…
GIlmore Girls Food
Food
It is only 6 hours total, so I don’t think that you necessarily need to plan an entire’s day worth of food. However, it *is* Gilmore Girls, and it won’t be GG without copious amounts of food. Clearly you need to have a wide variety of junk food, not limited to but including:
-Candy such as Swedish Fish, Gummy Bears, and Licorice
-Salty snacks, ie. Chips, popcorn, and Cheetos
-Burgers and fries
-Pizza
-Tacos
-Baking
-Ice cream
If you are like me and are making somewhat of an effort to be healthy, I would recommend using your entree as a means to ingesting some sort of vegetables and fibre. I personally plan on making a veggie pizza and tacos to allow for options for everyone! I can’t promise that I won’t eat 4,000 calories in snacks, though… WE ONLY HAVE ONE DAY TO IMPRESS RORY AND LORELAI GILMORE, PEOPLE.
In case you wanted to know some hints about what to expect in the new season….
Gilmore Girls Review
The Gilmore Girls Revival Is Everything I Wanted It To Be

I promise that you can expect my Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life review next Sunday- I should have watched it as least twice through (most likely three), giving me more than enough time to formulate an opinion. I will be watching it with my Junior Circle sisters as we assemble our shoeboxes for the Shoebox Project, so there will be more food around than we know what to do with!
Who else is waiting for the release? Anyone have any watching plans?
Until tomorrow,
The Historian!
