As previously posted, I love Christmas, and I fully embrace the fall as holiday preparation season. With my volunteer commitments heavy in September, I don’t wasn’t able to do as much prep as I wanted, but I have still accomplished a bit!
This is not an accomplishment per sé, but I have discovered a handful of new Christmas albums through Songza and Spotify. I’m always looking to expand my Christmas playlist, so this was a nice surprise. I know that people always yell at me for listening to Christmas music for most of the year. I know that it can be much to hear Christmas music in September and October. However, I always use earphones, or listen in my car when I’m alone; I like to think I am a conscientious listener of carols!
I have started Christmas shopping! I have one present done, and three, possibly four, will be purchased after this weekend. My original deadline was October 1, but I had to push it back to November 1. I WILL GET IT DONE EARLY. I’ve decided to make presents for the Alpha Gams in my life, but I am not sure yet what I will be making. I don’t think any of them read this, but in case they do- I most likely won’t be posting those until after I’ve delivered them!
I have acquired my Christmas cards, and I must say, they are ADORABLE. I found them at Michaels as usual- honestly, the 2 for $3 bins are the best place ever. I have found so many cards, notebooks, and other small goodies there. I also had a 25% off everything coupon which helped. I’m going to start writing them November 1, and have them mailed by November 15th. The stamps are a little expensive, but everyone loves mail, and I actually love writing them- wins all around!
Things for the upcoming month:
1) Deciding on twelve different recipes: I am going to do twelve days of treats for family and friends, so I will hopefully start those in late November (for the doughs that can be frozen).
2) Writing Christmas cards
3) Finish Christmas shopping
4) Alpha Gam crafting
5) Plan a small party for friends
Has anyone started thinking about Christmas? Is there anything you like to start working on early?
Until tomorrow,
The Historian!
