This is a bit of a different post for the blog. An Historian About Town is over seven years old now- it will be eight in January 2023! And I love being able to share history, culture, and books with you every week. While I am keeping all of my content free on the site as always, I can admit that support does help. This is a shorter post, but I am going to share a few ways that you can help An Historian About Town if you enjoy my content!
Share My Posts
It sounds very obvious, but traffic is important for websites. The more traffic you get, the higher ranking your site is, and you are given higher priority in search engines. And quite frankly, it is not always a great feeling to spend 8-10 hours on a blog post to have 5 people total read them. So, if you enjoy one of my posts, please share it! Or send it to someone that you think would enjoy it. In the last few months, I’ve had several new readers let me know that friends sent them links, and it means a lot to me.
And if you do enjoy specific content or topics- please let me know! I want to write about topics that readers will enjoy, and feedback can help steer the blog.

Ko-fi
I am trying something quite new for me; I have added a Ko-fi link on the sidebar. Ko-fi is a platform where you can “buy a coffee” for the websites and creators that you enjoy and want to support! It is a one-time secure payment, so you do not need to worry about monthly payments.
I in no way expect everyone to pay for reading the blog, but if you do like my content and feel that it is valuable, I would very much appreciate it. Any funds I do receive are going to be reinvested into the blog, including site design, technical support, and potential books.

Purchase the An Historian’s Christmas Guide
I know that it is in fact August when this is being published, and not the holiday season. However, I thought I would plant the seed early. I have released my own holiday guide ebook, complete with holiday history, recipes, DIYs, book recommendations and more! It is available on Etsy, and downloads straight away. Not only am I quite proud of it, it is one of the only ebooks on the subject.
It is normally $8CAD, but you can take it home for $5CAD if you use the discount code SUPPORT3 . (The code is active Sunday 7 August to Monday, 31 October 2022.)

Again, I more than appreciate all of the support An Historian About Town receives- it means the world to me!
Cheers,
The Historian
