This week marks a momentous occasion. For some people, dare I say most people, this would not be an occasion at all. It would be a normal, everyday action that you wouldn’t bat an eyelash at. You see, I ordered my very first, honest to goodness, non-drugstore make up palette! I spent hours upon hours trying to find a palette that fit within my budget, brands that I want to support, and the colour range that I like wearing right now. So, which palette did I end up ordering?
The Be Beautiful Face and Eye Palette from BareMinerals!
I think in the next few months I’m going to finally splurge and order the Naked 3 palette- I love the blush nudes, but I don’t know that I’m quite ready to pay $75 CAD for it without any skills to actually use it. From all of my research, it seems that BareMinerals is a good brand for sensitive skin, and I love the colours here! I’m finally going to try different combinations, I like that this palette isn’t overwhelming in colour choices.
While I don’t know that I will use the blush in the bottom right corner (it’s a little dark for my pale tone), I think that I will actually be able to use the rest of the palette. That has been the biggest stumbling block on for me actually purchasing a palette- if I don’t feel like I’m going to use the majority of colours, I don’t want to spend $50+ on a palette when I’m not using it. Because I’m super pale, I tend not to wear darker colours- the wrong colour, and it can easily look like I have a black eye.
So, beauty bloggers- and really anyone who knows make up- please link me any basic eyeshadow tutorials you know of! Be it a written step by step tutorial or a Youtube, I’m entirely open and looking for guidance. Feel free to share as many as you want!

I’d really love to get some pinkish eye-shadow palettes but they don’t suit me at all! I’m kinda envious of all people who can wear them, they look so amazing!
My favorite non-drugstore brand for makeup is currently MAC Cosmetics, because I find they suit my pink undertones very well. I also really like Lorac for their eye shadow palettes!
I LOVE the Naked Palettes! I have them all except the rose gold one, as that color brings out the red in my face. You will like any of them once you decide you are ready to take the plunge 🙂
The Naked2 is waaaay too dark for my vampire-like face, but the original palette and the Naked3 both look perfect!! It’s just actually taking that plunge ?
I get it! They are not cheap!
