Along with much of the world, #RoyalHistoryChat went on hiatus when Covid-19 came into full force around the globe. We all learned to quickly adapt to new realities of staying at home, taking on new responsibilities, and learning new skills. I didn’t want people to feel overwhelmed or bombarded. However, An Historian About Town is busier than ever, and now that we’ve all found our new normal, it’s time. The #RoyalHistoryChat is coming back on Twitter, and anyone is welcome to join in at all. Here is the list of topics for the #RoyalHistoryChat in May/June 2020!
If you are new to the blog or the chat, I tend to focus on the English/ Scottish/ British royals myself. However, many other chatters follow the other European monarchies, as well as African and Asian monarchies. It is a wonderfully low-key introduction to other monarchies and periods, and everyone is incredibly friendly. (It is also a great opportunity for finding more book, article, podcast, and documentary recommendations!)
If you are new to the chats, we don’t discuss the current living royals (to avoid arguments), but all historic royals are open for discussion! The chat goes throughout the full weekend, to allow people in different time zones to participate, and you can feel free to keep the chat going longer. You can find me on Twitter here!
