A few updates…
So, everything is happening all at once for me- tomorrow (on Monday, 6 August) I will be going self-hosted! I won’t have a new post up on Monday, 6 August or Tuesday, 7 August, but will get back to normal posts on Wednesday, 8 August.
Comments will be turned off from 9:00pm (Central Standard Time) on Sunday, 5 August to 9:00pm (Central Standard Time) on Monday, 6 August, but none will be deleted, and they will be turned back on! (It’s just for the move.)
The site might look a little bit different due to a slightly different theme, but overall, you should be able to find everything you need to! Over the next week or so you will probably see tweaks and adjustments as I get used to my new theme.
There will be posts as per my regular schedule from Wednesday, 8 August through Friday, 17 August; then from 18-31 August I will be sharing some of my favourite older posts that will tie into my new direction!

A small question if you wish to answer…..wondering what self-hosting means and why you decided to self-host? Is it outside of wordpress?
Oh, that’s a great question! When you are on WordPress.com, your site lives on WordPress and they take care of everything for you (you just worry about the cosmetic stuff). When you are self-hosted, you can use the WordPress framework to host your site individually (all on it’s own, if that makes sense). If you are WordPress.com, you are severely limited in monetisation options! Because I’m putting so much time into my blog (typically 25+ hours a week), I finally decided to move to monetisation 🙂
Sounds like a good decision. I recently joined Pinterest hoping to grow my blog a bit but am undecided if I wish to go there…..it just all seems like too much work for little result. It will be nice for you to make some money when you are putting so much time into it.
