Although I read like a crazy person, I do watch some television as well. Well, is it called tv if you watch it on Netflix? I have some standard shows that I can watch whenever, wherever- Gilmore Girls, Parks and Recreation, Destination Truth. But there are some that I have been watching as of late!
Homeland
Not going to lie, I just decided to pick a random show on Netflix and figured that this is in the “popular on Netflix” category. I was apprehensive because I’m normally not into thriller/espionage/terrorist type tv shows and movies, but I cannot stop watching this. First of all, Mandy Patinkin is amazing as Saul Berenson. Claire Danes and Damian Lewis are also fantastic, and I am continually impressed by the range of emotions that these actors convincingly portray. I cannot stop watching Homeland– it’s the first show that I remember actually staying up to watch because I just can’t stop. I’m currently close to the end of Season 2, and will probably be finished the next two seasons within two weeks. Hopefully Canadian Netflix gets Season 5.
Sing It On
I wrote a post about this in September, but Sing It On is my new favourite show. It might only be eight episodes long, but I’ve watched it entirely through over 30 times now. Bad day? Sing It On. Bored? Sing It On. Can’t sleep? Sing It On. It’s fun and entertaining and you are rooting for everyone and you follow through all of the highs and all of the lows. I can’t wait for Season 2 to come out, but apparently it’s not until the end of July *cue angry face*. If you love Pitch Perfect, So You Think You Can Dance, or any sort of reality show, you should definitely watch this!
Brooklyn Nine Nine
I might actually love this show more than Parks and Rec– it is absolutely hilarious. It’s the other show that I can throw on any episode and still stop what I’m doing to watch even though I’ve seen it countless times. I love that every character is well-developed despite not having a huge amount of time dedicated to each character within an episode. I’m always rooting for the Nine Nine! And for Gina, because she’s a national treasure (or so she says). I loved this show enough to buy Season 3 on Google Play even though I knew it would eventually come up on Netflix. Everyone needs to watch this!
Thus comes my favour to ask- please let me know what your current (or old) favourite tv shows are!! I usually rewatch the same show over and over and over, and I would love to have something new to watch. Other than horror and medical type shows, I’m open to trying pretty much anything! Bonus points if the show is already completed- I find that if I have to wait AGES between new episodes. Subtitled shows are totally cool, also!
I’m looking forward to hearing your tv suggestions!! Thank you in advance, dear readers!
Until tomorrow,
The Historian!

Not sure how you feel about Westerns but Longmire has five seasons, I doubt its complete but it a good watch.
Oh man I love Brooklyn nine nine! I had started a rewatch and recaps before I got distracted with my Sherlock catchup! Must get back to it soon…
That is one of my best Netflix finds!! So much so that I bought the entire series on Google Play haha. I can ALWAYS watch Terry and Holt!!
Love Terry and Holt. Love Gina and Santiago, too. And Charles – oh, I love everyone honestly. It’s just such a wonderful ensemble show. I love that so early on they began experimenting with character combinations. They’re just so confident in the chemistry between their cast members. I really must get back to my recaps. The sweetness of the show is just so refreshing.
It is one of the most earnest comedies that I’ve ever seen, and I think it’s why it is so wonderful! It’s hilarious without being crass or crude, and everyone can enjoy it!
I am watching through Gilmore Girls for the first time, and I am hating the last season and I’m only 5 episodes in. Season 6 also wasn’t great. I’m hoping the revival show will be better and fix things. I just feel like things have gotten so stupid.
Season 5 is my favourite season- I’m on team Logan. I felt like it went off the rails in season 6, and it was clear it no longer fit for Amy Sherman Palladino. I’m really torn on the revival- while I am desperate for it to return to its former glory, I’m left wondering where they can go from where they left off
I love Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy!
>
I can’t watch Grey’s (I am SO squeamish), but Scandal is now on the list!!! Thank you! 🙂
I do have to close my eyes a lot
The last one I saw was that train episode (with the pole) in season 3- HOW CAN PEOPLE WATCH THAT WITH THEIR EYEBALLS??
Omg right?!?! That one was extra bad.
I also couldn’t keep the doctors straight! I am not cut out for medicine in any form haha
