Snapshot- 11 July 2018

I hate it when…
Bad cinnamon buns
you think you have found the perfect recipe and it is a giant let down šŸ™ Once again, I tried to make those giant square cinnamon buns that are about the size of your face and despite following it word by word, no dice.
What has been your biggest cooking letdown?
Until tomorrow,

  • For about 2 (maybe 3) years I’ve been trying to cook more vegan. Trust me, there have been multiple let downs as I try recipes that are unfamiliar to me. They are a lot of work too, much like, I’m sure, this cinnamon roll recipe must have been. So much work….to not like the results!

  • I used to love Rachel Ray recipes. When I worked, as well as the hubs working, and we both would get home tired, her whole meal in 30 minutes thing was just right for us.
But once I tried to make her balsamic glazed vegetables. Gag. It was so horrible we actually had to throw out the pan, some sort of weird chemical reaction. LOL
But I used 4 of her cookbooks daily for four years probably, and this was the only bomb. That’s one heck of a success rate. LOL

    • I tend to try new recipes on the weekend when I have an hour or two to really get into it, and then I can streamline it for the weeknights. I will admit, I’ve not really found anyone whose recipes I consistently like- I tend to like one or two from one person, one from another, and so on!

    • Working with yeast is my one downfall! Everything else I’ve tried, I’m at least proficient with practice- I’ve attempted working with yeast probably 15+ times, and can’t do anything other than pretzels!
