Hello, dear readers, in 2020! I’m excited to head into the new year with you, exploring more history, culture, and style. I’ve really enjoyed forming a community, and in 2020, I plan on continuing it. I’ve found that Twitter chats are a wonderful way to connect with people interested in the same things that you are. So, these are my #royalhistorychat plans for the beginning of 2020! Let’s chat royal history…
In case you are curious, after this post, I will be back to my normal posting schedule. (Monday- History; Wednesday- History Bite; Friday- Style File Friday; Sunday- Culture/Books) However, I wanted to get these dates and topics out to you as soon as possible.
If you are new to the chats, we don’t discuss the current living royals (to avoid arguments), but all historic royals are open for discussion! The chat goes throughout the full weekend, to allow people in different time zones to participate, and you can feel free to keep the chat going longer.
January 4/5- For the first weekend in January, we will be chatting royal siblings! Arthur and Henry, Mary and Anne, Henry Frederick and Charles- royal siblings tend to have complicated relationships, but don’t often see the spotlight.
January 25/26- Hisdoryan will be co-hosting this weekend with me, and royal mistresses are up on the docket! Some were scandalous, some were devoted, but all have an interesting story.
February 8/9- After discussing royal mistresses, I thought discussing royal marriages would be the perfect follow up chat! As Six the Musical brings up, can you name different consorts?
February 22/23- I find royal authors to be quite interesting, so we will be discussing the royals who put pen to paper! Whether they wrote a book, poetry, songs, or left diaries behind, it is time to get reading and chatting.
