Luxe London- City Guide

While M was visiting, we went to the Bay (Hudson’s Bay Company), and on my journey to find out if we finally have Kate Spade handbags in our locations, I spotted this city guide to London, on sale for 70% off! A lovely deal for someone who loves London 🙂 

I really enjoy this small pocket-sized Luxe London! Although I am on a budget, I like to dream that I can live and travel in any style. It’s typically one or two luxury items/excursions per trip but I can still dream. This guide is made of thick, glossy paper and folds up accordion-style to keep with you on the go! It focuses on things luxe and worthwhile; some things are expensive as you can imagine, while others are less so.

Luxe features hotels, restaurants, clubs, groceries, amenities, and things to do in several different neighbourhoods. The print might be small but it packs quite the punch! It begins with a terrific section titled “Blah Blah” that features some of my favourite points:

“On a budget? Don’t come to London.” (Hahaha- funny, but still go 🙂 )

“In London on a budget? Start crying. This city is one huge cash removal zone- either put up or shut up.” This is my favourite point! I believe that if you are going to go through the trouble of travelling all the way to London, don’t skimp- make the most of it!

There are some very interesting spots and things recommended: Fortnum and Mason (one of my favourites), Lock & Co Hatters and Emilia Wickstead for your style, and the lovely Claridge’s for tea. (Claridge’s is next on my list!!) And what do we find?? Kensington Palace and the Orangery!! My post here details our visit to KP and the Orangery, but this description is spot on:

As you can see, this is a very tongue-in-cheek guide, and this tone sets it aside from most other city guides. I have added quite a few places and shops to my “To-do-in-London” list because of the comical but brief description here. If you can, I would certainly pick one of these up! I would say this is worth the original $10 CAD price tag- travel guide with humour.
