History in the Making

Blogmas 2024

Welcome to Blogmas 2024! It is crazy to think that this is my ninth year doing Blogmas here on An Historian About Town. (Yes, you can expect even more for 2025…) While it does mean that I have a lot more work for the site and social media (and during a busy time of year), this is my favourite part of the year. As someone who studies the history of Christmas, there is nothing better than getting to share it. We will be exploring a mix of different topics for Blogmas 2024, as well as a couple of continuing series. Let’s get into Blogmas 2024

Blogmas 2024

Blogmas 2024 Schedule

As we are once again returning to a daily posting schedule for Blogmas 2024, I’ve got the schedule here for you so you know what will be up when. If you see a day marked with an *, it means that the post could be holiday related or could not.

My posts still autoshare to Facebook- if you are there, definitely give my page a follow! I will be doing my best to share my posts each day to Threads and Instagram, if you find yourselves there more.

Blogmas Social Media

I do like to stay fairly active on social media during Blogmas, simply because I like to share the warmth and joy! Threads is the best place to find me on a daily basis and I am getting back into my daily posting on Instagram

As always, I will be posting my Advent Calendar opening on my Instagram Stories. This is one of my favourite traditions now- I know it’s really tiny in the grand scheme of life, but I enjoy sharing it. (Here is my plea once again to buy a nicer Advent Calendar that you can keep re-using for several years!)

My goal is to get back to posting new videos on my TikTok, as well! With everything going on in the life in the last several months, I’ve not posted there a lot but will hopefully be there several times a week. (I know that some people prefer video content!)

Holiday History Hub

I have already shared my Holiday History Hub but I’m including it here to be as accessible as possible! This is a hub for all of my holiday history posts- this is particularly helpful if you are in charge of creating some sort of holiday/Christmas history quiz

I’ve got the history of different movies, carols, songs, holiday traditions, recipes, royal Christmas history, literary history, book recommendations, and more. There truly is something for everyone here and is absolutely a labour of love for me. (I know a lot of creators somewhat dread Blogmas/Vlogmas for the sheer amount of content needed, but I’m the opposite. I have to find a way to limit mine!)

I am looking forward to sharing Blogmas 2024 with everyone, and I hope that whenever you start celebrating the holidays, they are wonderful!

Cheers,
The Historian
