Before anyone feels the need to furiously comment “IT’S TOO EARLY”, today’s post is not the start of Blogmas 2021. I’ll be laying out my plans for Blogmas with general timelines and what you can expect to see this year! I don’t have a hard start date, I rather work up to the holidays- hopefully this post will help people plan if they like to start closer to Christmas. So, without further adieu, onto Blogmas 2021 plans!

When Does Blogmas 2021 Start?
As of publishing date (1 Nov 2021), there has been one Blogmas post- my 2021 holiday chick lit round up! I have a royal history gift guide post scheduled for next week, and then daily posts for Blogmas start on Sunday 24 Nov. However, not all posts will be holiday related- I will still have non-Christmas culture, history, and book posts throughout Blogmas.

What Can I Expect for Blogmas 2021 on the blog?
As always, you can expect quite a bit of holiday history. I find the history of Christmas and the holiday season fascinating; it is intensely personal and emotional for most people. And while Christmas and much of the holiday season is rooted in religious traditions, there also is a secular Christmas that is no less meaningful to people.
I have several recipes to share for the holidays, again, as well as holiday movie history bites! (I have had a lot of fun researching old Christmas movies, there is a lot I did not know about them…)

What Can I Expect for Blogmas 2021 elsewhere?
If you aren’t already, I would recommend following me on Instagram- you can find me at @AnHistorianAboutTown. I’ve already got a couple of Holiday History Bite reels up, where I look at a particular holiday tradition’s history and how/why we take part now. There will be several more going up in the next two months. I will also have several different royal Christmas history bites up, both on Reels and IGTV, to dive a little bit deeper into those royal holiday traditions we always hear about. And of course, come 1 December, I will be sharing my Advent calendar daily!
If you aren’t already, you can also follow me on Twitter at @AnHistorianBlog! I will be sharing Blogmas posts from past years, as well as live tweets for a lot of Hallmark movies/Christmas movies. (And other things- Twitter will be the most varied place for me over the next few months.)

If there is any holiday topic that you would like to see covered during Blogmas, please let me know! I’ve left a few days open in case of requests, and I’m happy to research holiday history for anyone.
