More Time for Reading Than I Thought

Long story short that will be explained in a different post, I’m not flying out to see M now until the 28th. While I am pretty upset that my little time with him is being cut short, I’m trying to see the positive. Currently the positive is that I can make my through some of the books I’ve snagged on sale from Kobo in the last couple of weeks! Whenever I fly I like to have a wide variety of books at my disposal, lest I end up sitting somewhere for hours. So, I’ve taken advantage of the sales where I can and grabbed quite a few!

 
The Nest, Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney
This has been one of the biggest books of the year and I was apprehensive for months and months! I don’t know how I feel about the whole adult children dealio but I’m willing to give it a shot. I was unsure about a few different novels this year (The Girl You Left Behind by Jojo Moyes and Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan, to name a few) and they really paid off. I am hopeful that this is another that really takes me away, especially when I’m sad and disappointed. I picked this up for $3.99 on Christmas Day in a Kobo sale, and I feel like it is more than a fair price for a bestseller. Plum Pudding Murder, Joanne Fluke
Joanne Fluke’s cozies are easy to read and I always love the recipes that are included with these. The only downfall is that they are typically $6-11, and I can read them in a few hours- a little expensive when you consider how quickly they are over. However, this was $0.99, so there really wasn’t a wrong choice here! If I don’t read this right now, I will eventually read it at some point, certainly not a waste!

Made for Me, Kathryn R. Biel
We all know by now that I love me some chick lit. Make it involve a fake royal family somehow and I’m already reading it! If you offer me this for $0.83, I will throw my money at you and download it immediately. I was planning on saving this for the plane ride but it might be cracked early in an attempt to improve my mood!

The One You Love, Paul Pilkington
I don’t typically read the suspense genre, it doesn’t appeal to me most of the time but this was a free book. It’s free, it takes place in London, and if I like it I’ve discovered a new trilogy/author. If I don’t like it, it was free and nothing was lost!

The Duchess of Windsor, Greg King
I have a biography of the Duchess of Windsor that I keep meaning to read (That Woman) but it’s a physical book and not necessarily conducive to my every day life. This was an affordable ebook, $2.82, and the Goodreads reviews aren’t terrible. While I don’t particularly love the Duke and Duchess of Windsor (it’s selfishness at it’s height) I would like to read more about them. Who knows, perhaps this will change my mind?
