Well, it’s time… Continue reading
Walking. It seems an oddly simple way to exercise, maybe even too simple depending on what your fitness goals are. However, there are far more benefits to walking than first appear to the eye. It’s an easy and free way to get some of your daily movement in, and there’s no excuse not to do it. (Rainboots, umbrellas, parkas, and snowboots all exist to counter all weather imaginable…) If you are the hunt for something to get you off of your couch and out of the house, start with walking- as they say, you have to walk before you can run! I’m sharing all of the benefits I’m seeing from walking today with you….
Sure, there are many of us out there who are always motivated to get up and exercise no matter what is going on in our lives. But at some point in our lives, we are going to be out of the habit of exercise and for a variety of reasons, it’s going to be in your best interest to get up off of your couch and start moving. I used to be great about exercising every day and then life and stress happened and I fell out of the habit pretty quickly. Today’s post is all of my suggestions and tricks to keep myself moving and off of the couch!
The main aspect of blogging that I am still here for is the community. So, when I sat down and thought about the fact that my blogging might be cutting down on my exercise/ fitness time, I figured that there may be other bloggers who feel the same way. I could have simply written this down in a notebook but I figured that I would share this if anyone else is interested!
I’ve been so excited to write this post, the final in my series on ballet! Today is all about the performance, the end goal, what arguably everyone associates ballet with. I think that a lot of people have been to the ballet at least once (or a play/ musical/ opera/ symphony), and have some understanding on what is going on from the audience side. However, everything behind the stage? It usually stays backstage. It is much like the duck on water; floating along calmly on top, with feet moving incredibly quickly and chaotically beneath the water. Without further adieu, a day of performance!
Welcome back to the second part of my series on my experiences with ballet! Last week was all my ballet class experience, what I do to get ready, what I need for class, and what goes on in a class. This week is all about dress rehearsal, something not usually seen by “outsiders”. It is sometimes a little hectic and chaotic, there is a lot of warming up and continual movement, and there are usually quite a few mistakes. However, a bad dress rehearsal means that it will be a good show!
Back again with another quick question! I’m trying my hardest to get back into my exercise groove and while some days I have less motivation than others, I’m still getting to the gym and to my yoga mat and putting in the hours. Running, Zumba, yoga, and ballet are keeping me moving right now. However, I’m always looking for more ideas, which leads me to my quick question of the day… Continue reading
Today’s post isn’t a list or recommendations or instructions, but rather it’s just what is going on with me fitness-wise. I’ve really struggled in the last 5-6 months to find the motivation to exercise; work is incredibly draining and life is hectic and I’m having a really hard time motivating myself to get off my butt and do something. I find that a lot of people are into that motivated state of mind right now, and I’m hoping that writing about it is going to force some accountability… Continue reading
I don’t know if anyone else is feeling the same, but I am getting run down. I’m not sleeping as much as I should, I’m not eating as healthy as I should, and I’m not taking time to make sure that I’m running at full capacity (or even half capacity, if I’m being entirely honest). Work has been particularly stressful, life is getting incredibly busy, and the littlest things seem to slow me down and preoccupy my mind. It’s time to go back to the basics and focus on what I need to be the best me! I believe that finishing the year strongly is just as important, if not more so, than starting the new year fresh. There are small things that we can do to take care of ourselves, and today I’m gonna to share some of my recommendations! Continue reading
Hello, hello again! Welcome back to my #ShowYourPurpose series, this week we will be looking at the second line of the Alpha Gamma Delta Purpose. All Greek organisations will have a creed of sorts; some are longer, page long deals, while others are a few short lines. Every Founder, no matter which organisation they belong to, created the aspects of their organisation with specific reasons in mind, and I respect that! However, I do appreciate that the Purpose is of a good length, and that it really “covers” every aspect of life. What is this week’s line?
