Today I’m going to be sharing some of my favourite shots from our wanderings around Banff! I find that some of the best pictures from travelling don’t fit neatly into a post but rather are moments caught throughout. I love travelling with the dogs a) because I love Loki and Thor, and b) because you often get to see parts of towns and cities that you might not otherwise have. I normally don’t walk through residential streets when I travel for no reason. It kind of feels like I’m spying and it’s often out of the way. However, when we are with the dogs, it’s much quieter and a better walk. So, here are my favourite snapshots!

We are Loki and Thor and we get real loud if we think that Dad might be leaving….

Banff’s main strip is quite pretty in the morning when it’s quiet and empty- also, happy 150 years to Canada 🙂 Way to go, homeland!
How this pink bike hasn’t been stolen from the Banff Sweet Shoppe, I will never know!!
Where to go, which summit to climb? The choices are literally endless if you are looking for an adventure!

This is probably the most creative community board that I’ve ever seen in all of my travels! I can’t say that I do want a PhD in Physics but I would totally take a class in Banff…

I still haven’t figured out what exactly this building is, but there is some extensive restoration work happening here. Still a gorgeous building!
If you are going to give me a moose, don’t tell me that I can’t climb on it. You’re just being a party pooper….

Sometimes we walk like gentlemen huskies and just enjoy the view!
My last Banff post will be up tomorrow- my restaurant reviews! As for you, what is your favourite accidental discovery that you’ve made on your travels?
Until tomorrow,
The Historian!

Beautiful! And I love that you get to travel with your pups!
It makes travelling a little bit tougher, and a little bit longer, but it’s totally worth it!! 🙂
My hubs and I went to Banff a few years ago and loved. Absolutely charming! These are some great shots and they show what a quirky place it is.
I’ve been probably ten times now, and it just amazes me that every single time I can find something new to discover and enjoy! Half of my family prefers Jasper because it’s smaller and less commercial, but I think that with a little digging Banff is pretty unique, too!! 🙂
Wow! Stunning photos! That bike is awesome!
Thank you!!! 🙂 And update on the bike- they now have to have someone watching it at all times because people have tried to ride it away hahaha
OMG!! Why don’t they lock it down??
I LOVE these photos! You keep making me so excited to explore more of Canada!
What time of year was this? This Spring? It is hard to tell with the snow!
This was in the first week of May! In the true winter, the town will have a few feet of snow 🙂 You will need to head up into the mountains to get some true snow for your first Canadian winters!! The BC rockies are GORGEOUS and have some of the best skiing!!
Such beautiful pictures!!
Thank you!!!
