Happy Christmas Eve, dear readers! Depending on your family, this might be the “big day”, but in any case, it is usually a busy day. I do everything possible to make sure that I get most of my holiday work done before- wrapping and baking can usually be done a few days ahead. And now I’ve got some of my own, unique traditions for Christmas Eve that I will absolutely be enjoying today. So, what is it that I will be doing today?
Agnes (my westie) and I try to at least spend part of Christmas Eve relaxing. It is a busy evening on the 24th and full day on the 25th, and some quiet time helps. (I know that I am lucky to have the luxury of it!) I always start the day with a huge mug of tea (Santa’s Secret) and…
Christmas Eve Reading
I will be continuing on my tradition of reading a whole book on the 24th. I always set a few books aside, and see what strikes my fancy in the morning. This year, I will be either be reading The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren, or Olga’s Egg by Sophie Law. Quite different books- a light chick lit fare, and a Romanov based mystery. Relaxation Options
In keeping with the relaxed theme, I like to have a few options to keep myself busy without too much work. Typically, I either get going on a puzzle, or do some colouring. (Clearly, I am the coolest person on the internet…) I like both because they are pretty easy to involve other people, and do while you are chatting. And I usually continue with the puzzle/colouring throughout the rest of the holidays! (I just finished a 3D puzzle of a Christmas village, and it made me so happy.)
