History in the Making

DIY Suggestions?

I enjoy DIY projects and crafts, like any other female twenty-something. I used to scrapbook quite seriously, until I realised just how much money it was costing me and that it gets rather sad to be scrapbooking trips from two and three years ago because inevitably you will be behind. I love painting, I find it incredibly relaxing. Working with watercolours is very peaceful, while painting with acrylic keeps me moving. I enjoy making Alpha Gam crafts- it is fun and is something that I am passionate about. I don’t really craft like southern sorority members though, because WHY DO YOU NEED A PAINTED COOLER FOR A FORMAL?!?!?

I do want to start doing more projects, and I am looking for suggestions. I like the look of those melty crayon things everywhere on Pinterest, but that will end up with melted crayon on hardwood floor. And although I would desperately love to make a sleeve for my chromebook, I cannot sew to save my life. So, do you have a DIY project that was relatively easy and inexpensive? I am thinking of maybe a necklace board/stand, or a keepsake box for my travely things, or something small to give to my friends. I am hoping to approach this like my baking, start simple and grow. We don’t have Hobby Lobby or Joanne’s here, so Michaels is pretty much it for supplies unless I order online. I am open to any suggestions! I’m also looking for simple DIY blogs if you have recommendations!

Until tomorrow,
The Historian
