Well, it is hard to believe it, but we find ourselves at the beginning of Blogmas 2023! It will come as no surprise to return readers that this is my favourite time of year for the blog. I find holiday history endlessly fascinating, and I love being able to share it with you. This is my eighth year of Blogmas on An Historian About Town and to keep it interesting for both you and me, I’ve delved into newer topics. Welcome to Blogmas 2023- I hope you enjoy!
What is Blogmas?
If you are new to Blogmas, Blogmas is a time when bloggers post something daily on their blog for the holiday season. For some bloggers, the posts are all holiday themed; for others, they are not. Here on An Historian About Town, most posts are holiday themed but I do have at least one post a week that is not if you want something else.
Blogmas 2023 Schedule
As always, I do have a theme/topic for each day of the week. It gives a bit more structure to Blogmas and means that you can have an idea of what to expect!
Sunday: Culture– On Sundays, you will have culture- it might be holiday performances, music, games, or more!
Monday: History– As always, I will be doing a deep dive into many areas of holiday history from around the world for you.
Tuesday: Royal Christmas– As my royal Christmas posts were very popular last year, I knew that I needed to revive this series for this year.
Wednesday: Book Bite– Another constant on the blog, you will be getting book recommendations on Wednesdays!
Thursday: Song of the Day– While we focused on the history of different carols last year, this year we will be exploring different secular holiday songs together.
Friday: Style File Friday– What is Friday without some fashion history?
Saturday: Recipe– Each Saturday I will be sharing a different recipe for you to make for your own holiday celebrations!
