Hello dear readers! I hope that your summer is starting off as best as it can and that you are enjoying it however you can. This year more than ever, we need to take time for ourselves and make the most of our summer. So, I’ve decided to change my plans for summer 2020 on An Historian About Town slightly! All of the same things you love but a little differently…

I shared my original Summer 2020 plans here! However, since it was published on 31 May, I’ve had time to think. Health-wise, I need a bit more time to take care of myself and have a bit more down-time. Ideally, I will be doing quite a bit more research for my independent projects/potential PhD. I also have a lot more listening, learning, and reading to do, to push myself further in my historical work. So, from Monday 29 June to 8 Saturday August, I will have mini-posts instead of full length posts! My topics and themes will still be the same, but simply bite-sized posts (like my History Bite/Book Bite posts). I will still be on social media though- feel free to message or comment if you want to chat!

Summer 2020 on An Historian About Town
I’m following the same general schedule as always (see below). Posts will be 300-500 words instead of a full read, so you will still have your history, culture, and style fix!
Sunday- Books, Culture, Ballet, Theatre
Monday- History
Wednesday- History Bite /Book Bite
Friday- Style File Friday

#AnHistorianReads Book Club
I of course have to plug the #AnHistorianReads Book Club! We are having a wonderful discussion of Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen at the moment, and I have another book picked to read next. We will be reading Elizabeth Gaskell’s Cranford– it has always been on my reading list, and I’m excited to dive in with my lovely book club. It’s only a few chapters a week and a free discussion, so it isn’t a huge time commitment but is a great way to keep reading! Join the club here

I’m happy to have a bit more time to work on separate research and some relaxation this summer, but I’m still here! What are your Summer 2020 plans?
Cheers,
The Historian
