History in the Making

Style Saturday: 23 January 2016

There is nothing better than seeing your best friend, especially when you haven’t seen them in two and a half years!! Katelynne and I were lucky enough to have a day together after I got to Washington but before she left to go back to Dublin. I am grateful that we had that time together, and happy for our adventures! We went to the outlets first, and then Target at Burlington. Katelynne is all about make up, and she introduced me to some fantastic (and inexpensive!) make up brands.

1.Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paolo, NYX

Katelynne recommended this for a striking lip, and it really does deliver! On her instructions, I use a regular lip balm first, and then apply this cream. It feels very rich and smooth, and definitely looks pigmented. For only $8 USD, I second this recommendation!!

2. Studio Complexion Brush, ELF Cosmetics

I will admit to being suspicious of a $3  brush. I have a $20 Quo brush that is okay, so I wasn’t sure how well a $3 brush would fare. However, I’m happy to also admit that I was wrong. This brush is so soft, and spreads my pressed powder so evenly, I absolutely love it. I will be purchasing several more of these brushes!!

3. Deception Pass

So, I’m sure that you will have guessed that Deception Pass is not in fact a beauty or fashion item, but rather our first stop on our historic day together!! We stopped in between the two bridges, and then took a windy and slightly wet stroll to take this dramatic picture:

LOOK HOW GREEN IT IS!!! I am so thankful that we were able to have our day together 🙂 I would highly recommend checking out her blog at doingyogatodubstep.wordpress.com!!

Until tomorrow,
The Historian!
