Snapshot- 13 June 2018

This year has been a bit of a rollercoaster, reading-wise- it has been harder to sit down and read than I thought it would be. There is a lot of time to think when you are reading…

However, in the last month or so, I’ve been able to start reading again, both physical books and ebooks! (My Kobo Aura has gotten me back into the habit of reading a chapter before bed!) I’ll admit, it’s mostly light fiction but I am reading again! Right now I’m reading When Life Gives You Lululemons, the third book in the Devil Wears Prada series. I’ve not read the first two but it was on sale on Kobo for $2.99, and I’m quite glad I gave it a shot! It’s entertaining and keeps you reading and that’s all I can ask for.

What are you reading right now? I should have a review up in the next week or two, as I’m almost finished!

Until tomorrow,

This may sound like an odd/ impertinent question (so feel free to ignore): but how does reading cause you to think more (about something other than the reading material/ directly related to it)? Does it not help you to escape instead- depending, of course, on what you choose to read.

Not weird at all! I find that when I’m not in a good mental state, reading doesn’t hold my attention from anxiety/difficult thoughts no matter how engaging it is. Listening to an audiobook or watching tv kind of overrides my thoughts,if that makes sense!

Yes. Totally get the tv bit, depending on what you’re watching. Audiobooks I’ve never used, but you have mentioned that it lets you listen and do other things so maybe that has something to do with it.
