Blogs I Follow 2016 Roundup (Blogmas)

I still maintain that blogging is all about the community, at least for me! I don’t care about making a profit or becoming blog famous, but I do love “meeting” new bloggers. This year I have been fortunate to discover several new blogs that I look forward to every post to the point where I usually end up re-reading posts. I know that these bloggers are only going to get bigger and better in 2017, and they should certainly be proud of everything that they have accomplished in 2016. They are pretty inspiring to me, and I hope that you enjoy them!

The Unabridged Sass

Chrissey is a fantastically entertaining blogger that will be one hundred percent honest with you while still staying fun and charming. I love her rants, which has encouraged me to share some of my own rants! Beauty, style, recipes, and rants- The Unabridged Sass has it all! She is also quite friendly, and is one of the most responsive bloggers that I’ve reached out to- feel free to comment or chat with her, she’s lovely! Favourite Posts: The 100 Blogger Questions Tag, Good Things of 2016, and Chrissey’s Guide to Blogging.

A Scone at a Time

A Scone At A Time looks at all of the little things in life, to enjoy anything that brings her happiness after her mother passed from cancer in April 2015. I think that this is a fantastic reminder to all of us to take note of everything around us! A wonderful photo blog to follow. Favourite Posts: The Randolph, Blue Skies in Chelsea, and Palace of House.

Lady Sarah’s London

While I hope to one day life in Dublin again, I also hope I will be able to live in London! Sarah looks at life in London, luxury brands, and protecting animals! As someone who donates to multiple animal rescues and volunteers with a humane society, I love that she is using her blog to promote animal causes. She has a wonderful sense of style and I can’t help but admire her vintage collection. Favourite Posts: The Art of Looking Tres Chic When Living Out of a Suitcase, Personal Style: Wardrobe and Lifestyle Evaluation 1, and First Class Travel!

New England Classic Beauty

I’ve been following Monica’s blog since last fall, but I absolutely needed to include her blog! She took the big step to get her own domain (I will eventually do that, I just move slowly…) and her blog looks amazing now! She blogs about everything that she is truly passionate about, and it really shows in her writing. Her best posts are about hiking and exploring New England, you are really transported there!  Favourite Posts: Tree Lighting Evening in Portsmouth, NH, Boston Ballet Premiers Le Corsaire, and Black Friday Mt. Tecumseh Hike!

KJ’s Blog

While I have decided to cut back on my sorority/alumnae related blog posts (realistically, it’s not relevant to 90% of my readers), I still think that more Greek alumnae need to get their voices out there! KJ is a great writer and makes me want to stay involved with Alpha Gamma Delta and Panhellenic affairs in general- her love for Kappa Delta and Greek life in general is infectious, and her style and travel posts don’t hurt in the least! Favourite Posts: Confidence Week at USDHow to Pack for a Work Conference, and Washington.

Franish

While I am certainly no doctor, I love that Fran runs her blog while in her residency- a lot of bigger blogs are run by full-time bloggers but I happen to think that Fran’s is one of the best, and she fits it in around BEING. A. DOCTOR. She shares style posts- including online sales and shopping experiences- as well as lifestyle posts. I find her three medical facts each week fascinating, and not so difficult to understand that this historian is confused… Favourite Posts: Holes in My Closet, Gift Guide for Stationery Lovers, and Everyday Style.

There are many, many other blogs that I also love, but these are the blogs that immediately spring to mind when someone asks what blogs I read! What are your go-to, must-read blogs? Please share in the comments!!

Until tomorrow,
The Historian!

Awww thanks for including my little corner of the interwebs!! I always wish I had more time to dedicate to this blogosphere, but having followers like you with their own amazing blogs totally makes it worth being a part of the blogging community! 🙂

I have been SOOOO busy recently with the whole post-graduation job hunt thing, and this DEFINITELY made my day! You were the first blog that I ever followed when I started blogging, so this wholly means so much to me! Thank you so much for the mention. It means so much that you think I’m a responsive blogger, because I genuinely do try to be one! Have a great week, and thanks again! ❤

Of course!! You are a talented writer, and I always look forward to reading your posts 🙂 And remember to take time for you during the job hunt- you can burnt out applying for jobs as much as you can from work itself. Take a few moments for yourself each day!
