December begins! Style Saturday, 3 December 2016 (Blogmas 2016)

It’s the mooooooost wonderfuuuuuul tiiiiime of the yeeeear… The true beginning of Blogmas AND the time of the year when I can wear red and green every single day and no one says that my colour scheme is off! And I do. I’m going to be entirely honest, throughout the year I keep an eye out for red and green items of clothing that will work well together in preparation for the big month. By no means am I arguing that these are the most fashionable outfits that I’ve ever worn but they make me smile and help spread the holiday cheer!

Thursday was the big day, the start of it all, December 1. I like to plan all of my outfits for the week on Sundays in order to cut out unnecessary thinking in the morning. I spent probably ten minutes trying to decide what the outfit for the 1st would be, and finally settle on two of my favourite pieces of clothing! Although they are slightly (cough, cough, fairly) obnoxious together I was really feeling this outfit. The damask pattern on the green blouse paired with my favourite pants? Yes, please! (Ignore the boring white socks, amateur mistake…)

Casual Fridays paired with Christmas sweaters? YUP. This is the Christmas sweater that started it all- I bought it from Penney’s while I was living in Ireland, and I have to say that it is the comfiest of all of my Christmas sweaters. I was going to wear my black jeans but I spilled on them while making my tea and had to change into the blue! I don’t know what I love more about this outfit- the movable scarf or my Kate Spade glitter Keds! If you don’t have a reindeer beard or a polar bear scarf somewhere in your wardrobe, can you really call it complete? (You also get a small taste of my Whoville office decorations!)

Next week will be the first week of five outfits, and it will start testing my creativity once again! The holiday season is all about fun and cheer for me, and I hope that my goofy red and green outfits do that for everyone I see.

When do you start bringing out your holiday style?

Until tomorrow,
The Historian!
