Just Keep Moving! (Or so I tell myself)

I’m not going to lie, I didn’t exercise at all when M was visiting. We don’t get too much time together in the same place, so I’m not going to waste it on anything other than being with him! However, I haven’t been pushing myself as hard as I usually do, for probably the last month. I am not sure why, but I need to get back into shape. I’ve gained a little weight (nothing hugely noticeable to others, but I know it is there), I’m finding it hard to want to exercise at night, and I’m more sore than normal for me. So far, I am 4 for 5 for exercising in the last 5 days, and I’m looking to keep the momentum going!

I don’t have much of a problem running at lunch. I don’t know what I would do with my lunches if I wasn’t exercising, and I’ve actually been adding an extra 4-5 minutes on my runs for the last few weeks. Here’s to hoping I stay at at least 30 minutes per run!! I bought a few new running pieces (that should be appearing on Style Saturday in the next few weeks) that are helping motivate me in that arena. I’ve also been trying different cardio videos on youtube in the evenings. It seems that there are a lot more short, 5-10 minute cardio videos than 20-30 minute videos. I will usually make a playlist of 2-3 videos, and I am usually dying by the end. Turns out that jumping for 7 minutes straight will in fact wear you down.

I am slowly getting back to yoga- yesterday was my first try back in over two weeks. I decided to do a longer video- if I’m going to do this, I need to commit. I’ve never tried flow yoga- it was as good a day as any! I found it more difficult than you would think to coordinate my breathing and movements. On the plus side, I don’t think it has ever been that coordinated before. It is certainly one of those sequences that you feel the next morning, in a good way. I think I will be trying more flow sequences, as I found it to be a great workout and I finished feeling very relaxed. Hopefully branching out in the type of yoga I am practising will bring back my interest!

Any tips to revive my interest??

Until tomorrow,
The Historian!
