This has been a very busy month Alpha Gam-wise for me, and the next month will also be! So, what has been going on?
Aside from advising, Junior Circle has had our usual meeting and monthly brunch! Brunch is actually making such a difference- it is lovely to have time to just eat and chat and not have to accomplish anything. The chapter had a Leadership Consultant visit, and Junior Circle hosted her for a potluck! I know that LCs have a crazy job. They travel from chapter to chapter, meeting with officers and advisors, and have their own reports and work to do at the same time. I wanted to make sure that she would have a least one night with no work. We ate pizza and veggies and brownies and Blue Watermelon Fruitopia (which I think has become our official beverage….), and watched John Oliver videos and talked about a million different topics, and I had a lot of fun. I hope that she did, too! (Arielle was absolutely wonderful, and I’m so thankful that I had the chance to meet her and spend a good amount of time with her. Truly an ideal Alpha Gam!)
Junior Circle is heading into planning International Reunion Day this April again. April 24 is the day! It is still stressful, but after 85th, it is nothing. We have booked a venue that provides all of the food this year, removing a lot of the stress from last year’s IRD, but it is always a struggle to collect RSVPs (and continually adjust when people change them). The theme is Endless Possibilities! We are currently working on the program. My goal is to incorporate collegians and alumnae into the program, and give it enough weight without being overwhelming. If nothing else, I hope we look less crazy running around the day of and can actually enjoy it.
To make it through the last EC of the academic year as an advisor, and IRD, and then it’s relaxation!!
