Tomorrow I’m off! Seattle and Vancouver

Tomorrow evening I will be flying off to visit M, and I couldn’t be more excited! It has been a particularly long time between visits, so this needs to happen. I’m pretty excited to just wander around together, again. I’m off to Seattle via Vancouver, meaning there are quite a few things to see!

Firstly, we are taking Daisy to the doggie beach. Yes, in Washington they have doggie beaches instead of parks. If that isn’t amazing, I don’t know what is. IT IS A DOG SPECIFIC BEACH, PEOPLE. This is Daisy enjoying her time at the beach last weekend- hopefully she has as much fun when I’m with them!

Secondly, M is the absolute best boyfriend in the world and got us tickets to Emergence, the current production for the Pacific Northwest Ballet. I love being able to see new ballet companies, especially one as well-known as PNB. It is a mixed piece show, and I’m looking forward to two pieces in particular. The Calling uses 12th/13th century music, which appeals to the medieval historian in me. Emergence is the final piece, and was created by the National Ballet of Canada! I always love to see Canadian works and dancers disseminating throughout the dance world. Enjoy the trailer for the show here!

Thirdly, we get to explore Vancouver a bit! I’m hoping it is quiet enough to wander around Stanley Park. We will be there on Remembrance Day, so that would be the perfect time for me to stop and reflect at 11am. It’s a beautiful city, and the change of scenery from Winnipeg is welcome. It is also M’s first time in Vancouver, hopefully he is impressed!! (Don’t let me down, Van City)

Lastly, I get to finally go to a Kate Spade store. FINALLY. That’s going to take a LOT of self-control.

In all truth, I will be okay without any of these things as long as I get to hang out with M. They are lovely, but still second place.

Do you have any recommendations for Vancouver or Seattle?

Until tomorrow,
The Historian!
