Style Saturday- 10 October 2015

And thus Canadian Thanksgiving weekend begins! This is going to be a tad shorter as a result of our fine holiday 🙂

1)Carson Pass II Omni-Heat Jacket, Columbia

I realise this will probably leave a mark on me as a Canadian, but I haven’t bought a new winter jacket in over 5 years, so I knew it was time. Sport Chek had a 25% Family and Friends Event, so I jumped on the chance to replace my old Columbia. The new Omni-Heat Reflective lining is incredibly warm. This is useful when you live somewhere that routinely reaches -45ºC. This jacket comes down past my sit-bones, and zips up past my chin- guaranteed it will stop the wind! I am excited to be able to wear this soon.

2) Red Vinyl Crossbody, Kate Spade

I found this beauty at Marshall’s for $80! I know it is a specific outlet item, but I think it looks adorable with the corrugated spades. As soon as I saw it, I fell in love with it. And then I left it. But those Marshall’s commercials with women talking about the one that got away are effective, and I headed back later that afternoon to scoop it up! It is quite thin, but that’s perfect for a night out. I also instantly had visions of wearing this at Christmas with some silver garland wrapped around the strap. (My apologies for the picture, it is near impossible to take a picture of this purse given how shiny it is.)

Do you have any items that you are saving for a certain event or time??

Until tomorrow,
The Historian!

I have a Columbia jacket with omni-heat and I LOVE it! It doesn’t get particularly cold where I am, but I’m quite cold-natured, so I need all the help I can get. Your going to look super stylish while being super warm! Score for you!

Oh, that makes me very happy!! I had nearly given up on staying warm whilst not looking like the Michelin Man. This gives me hope!!
