I have started to realise again that television does exist. I’m fairly entrenched in my reading, and I like that I can take my books or kobo anywhere- not always the case with television shows. Still, there are a few shows that I think I’m going to be watching this fall!
The Muppets, ABC
I love the Muppets in any incarnation. 1970s TV show, A Christmas Carol, Treasure Island, Muppets in Space, Muppets Most Wants, 1990s TV show, and now 2015 TV show. I for one am a Muppets dork and could not be more excited for a Muppets documentary series. Premiere Date: On September 22nd, maybe we will get to hear the full story on Kermit’s new girlfriend.
How many of us have worked in retail? I’m surprised that this hasn’t been made into a show before now. America Ferrera is a fantastic actress and I’m excited to see her again! Premiere Date: Nothing as of yet, sadly.
Flesh and Bones, Starz
A show about ballet?? I don’t care how dramatic and unrealistic it is, I will be watching it. I’m still upset that Breaking Pointe was cancelled (I NEED to find out what is happening, dammit)- I will take anything at this point. And everyone needs a trashy tv show, right? I might be wrong on that, a producer from Breaking Bad is involved the trailer hasn’t convinced me of non-trashiness, though. Premiere Date: Hopefully the will use all that time until November 8th to make it a show that will stay around!
I still love Mary, Queen of Scots, and I still love Reign. Elizabeth I is going to be playing a prominent role in this season, and I am just waiting to see how show-Mary (not as weak as real life-Mary) takes her on. We left the end of the second season with Kenna peacing out and meeting another king, Bash is spiritually tied to his murdered mistress, and Francis thinks he is going to die. Return Date: Unfortunately, we have to wait until October 9th to catch up with court again.
Once Upon a Time, ABC
So, last season we were gifted with a Frozen storyline, which was FANTASTIC. And now, what do we get?? BRAVE. You heard me. BRAVE. I think Merida is one of the most-badass characters that they have ever created at Disney, and I couldn’t be more excited to see her. I seem to watch this in marathons, so I might stockpile a few episodes to watch in November when life slows down. Return Date: September 27th- ABC is certainly indulging us with an early release date!
2 Broke Girls, CBS
I have to say, I never thought I would like this show. However, I had a hard time when I first moved to Dublin, and I watched the first season of this show in about two days. Ever since, I’ve had a soft spot for 2 Broke Girls. I am one of those people who actually enjoys sitcoms, and this strikes a good balance between off-colour comedy and traditional laughs. Return Date: Not sure 😦 Hopefully soon!
Jane the Virgin, CW
Based on a telenovela, I didn’t discover this show until the beginning of the summer. I won’t go out of my way to sit down and watch it, but I will definitely catch up on the CW site! Everything that happens is so outrageous, you have to keep watching. Return Date: October 23rd is a busy weekend so for me, so I will be catching up later.
Are there any shows that you are looking out for? Any recommendations? Fall tv is coming again!
