Hello! As we are stuck in the middle of another hot summer on the prairies, this week’s Style Saturday is all about skincare!
I noticed my skin acting up about a month ago, so I have been going out of my way to take care of my skin. I have not been wearing any make up on my face, aside from a touch of foundation under my eyes and mascara. I felt a little odd at first, but it seems normal now. Onto the products!
I used this cleanser when I was a teenager, and I decided to start with it again! It can be a little overwhelming with cleansers, so familiarity was a good starting point. It cleans my skin well, the menthol makes for a great “clean” feeling, and I don’t need to use a ton of product. I usually follow up with a tiny bit of my Clinique moisturiser.
2. Sun Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Sunscreen Face Cream, Clinique
A lot of people don’t like this product because they find it too thick, and doesn’t sit well with make up. Well, to those people I would say, do you wear make up over Copper tone sunscreen? This is a better quality version of that! I burn like no tomorrow. As in, I’ve had blisters the size of dimes on my legs from a burn. THIS PRODUCT WORKS!!! I use this when I know I will be outside for more than 10 minutes, and it delivers! The best classic sunscreen out there.
Yep, water! I realised I was drinking nowhere near enough water, and that was affecting my skin. I have been drinking 2-2.5 litres a day, it seems to be a good amount for me. I have seen a picture going around Facebook, a four litre jug marked with how much you should drink by what time. DON’T DRINK 4 LITRES OF WATER IN A DAY. Especially if you aren’t used to it. If you don’t drink any, start with a litre and go from there! My skin doesn’t look as dry, there are less wrinkles, and I have far less spots. **Be aware- I did break out for the first 7-9 days, your body uses the new found water to flush toxins out, and they come out of of everywhere (including your skin).
